| 1. a great route running mainly on nc66 cycle route with minor road interaction the route is designed to suit a steady cyclist , use of mountain bike , hybrid , or cyclecross , inadvisable on a road bike due to the uneven bumpy surface along the canal towpath , the route is easy going mainly flat lovely views going through the country park and through the famous earlsheaton tunnel it is lit but not very brightly due to been a bat habitat so use of lights is recommended,out of the tunnel the ride starts to climb steady at first up to ossett i say at first as the last bit is a challenge which requires good use of your gearing .on the return be wary of the cars using the asda supermarket the road is marked well but its the users you have to watch . a lovely route for all ability of cyclist at your own pace . |
