| 1. Gentle touring route starting and finishing at the iconic Eureka Cafe at Ledsham, with opportunities for additional refreshment if required at the Grosvenor Arms, Pulford and the garden centre in Holt. Leaving Ledsham towards Chester for a couple of hundred metres to Woodbank Lane, then quiet roads through Saughall and over the Dee at Saltney Ferry before passing through Dodleston and Pulford en route to Holt. Thence back over the Dee, through Farndon, Churton and Waverton and home via Guilden Sutton and Mickle Trafford to Backford, from where a choice can be made to Dunkirk: either A41 and A5117 or on the traffic-free lanes via Lea-by-Backford. Then follow Dunkirk Lane /route 56 briefly to Capenhurst Lane to the A540 Parkgate Road and back to the Mills. |
