The route also includes a mixture of roads through forest, fields, secluded areas and busier ones. Directions: Starting at the junction of Stonards Hill and the high street, go down the hill until you reach the 1st left hand turning. Turn left here towards Coopersale. Follow the road through Coopersale until you get to a T junction. Turn right towards North Weald. Turn left at the next junction to Thornwood. Follow the road and then turn right up duck lane. At the end of duck lane turn right up Weald Hall lane. Near the end of weald hall lane is four concrete blocks to stop cars from turning. Carefully turn left around these blocks, watching out for the occasional lorry heading towards weald hall farm. Follow this road until you get to a big black gate. Sometimes this gate opens automatically, bit if not then you'll have to dismount and walk around it. Immediately after the gate is a junction onto the A414. Turn right onto the A414. At the roundabout turn right (2nd exit) onto Rayley Ln. Follow this road until the small roundabout. Turn left at the roundabout, 1st exit, then almost immediately turn right at the junction towards North Weald. Following this road (church lane) takes you to the high road. Turn left towards Epping. After following the high road past the traffic lights, you should end up near Stonards Hill again. Turn right opposite Stonards Hill. If you keep following this road through fields and turn left at the sign that points towards Waltham Abbey, then you should end up on the other side of Epping near bell common. turn left and follow the high street back up to Stonards hill.
