Cycle Steps
1. A short ride to the Welsh Road East, an old drovers road. Four miles of flattish road to Marston Doles where you meet your first hill - nothing too severe. Rewarding descent into Priors Marston before taking the country road out towards Charwelton and your second hill. Turn left at the top towards the telecommunications tower which you will pass on your right. Straight across the crossroads and follow the flattish, occasionally gentle downhill road past Hellidon and through to the A425 at near Staverton where you will see an enticing pub. Left towards Leamington/Southam. Good fast descent passing a farm shop with coffee/cakes, on the left. Turn right on undulating, poorish quality road signposted Flecknoe. Through the village and turn left towards Flecknoe station where you turn right over the bridge then left onto recently (2012) reconditioned rural road. After appx three miles left toward Broadwell, through village and out toward Birdingbury for half a mile or so before turning left towards Stockton. Over canal bridge and turn left towards Napton passing the small garden centre and canal bridge before turning right at the A425 and following the main road for three miles back to Southam.
Landmarks/Sites to see?
Hellidon Telecomms tower is set on a hill and the view there is good. No bike shops. Good view from Flecknoe.
