1. This route a mix of urban and rural;trunk roads and lanes.Most suited to sports or hybrid bikes. Mostly downhill route from Kearsley until it reaches the A580. From here the route is pretty much flat until it under-passes the M60.This part of the route crosses the western edge of Chat Moss and over the Manchester Ship Canal via the Warburton Toll Bridge(free to cyclists) After underpassing the M60 near the Trafford Centre there is a gradual uphill climb to the A666 at Pendlebury. There are opportunities for refreshments between the A580 and the M60 as there are a number of pubs and garden centres serving snacks and meals.
