Cycle Steps
1. Escape from Buxton via the A515 to the Chelmorton turn opposite the Bookstore. Turn right in 3/4 mile for Chelmorton and left again up the village street. To the top nearly at The Church and the church. Up to the Taddington Moor Road, then right - choice of 2 roads - to Flagg. Then onwards to Monyash. Straight over the crossroads for the sustained climb to rejoin the A515 very briefly. Turn off right: tricky traffic - for Parsley Hay and 4 miles northwards on the High Peak Trail. Go as far as you can: through the gate by the quarry, and turn left. Onto a minor road which takes you spectacularly past High Wheeldon and views of Chrome Hill and Parkhouse, down to Earl Sterndale. Turn right alongside the chuch and then turn right again onto the B road back to Brierlow Bar. Back up the A515 to Heathfield Nook, turn right - scary traffic again - through Cowdale and steeply down to the A6. Turn left and wind back along Ashwood Dale into Buxton.
