Please note NO cycles are permitted on the towpath north of Wilmcote, so you cannot take a shortcut by joining the canal at the Edstone Aquaduct. You follow the canal downhill to Stratford. Turn left off the canal into the industrial estate and then turn left back over the canal to go down the road. Then turn left again and there are cycleways all the way to the Greenway, with pedestrian crossings to cross the main busy roads.
Landmarks/Sites to see?
Stratford-upon-Avon bike hire, there are also numerous pubs on the way including the Snitterfield Arms (Snitterfield), Golden Cross (Bearley), King's Head (Aston Cantlow) and both the Masons Arms and the Crown in Wilmcote. If you do decide to pursue the Welford Loop (see other article), half way down the Greenway there is a railway carriage converted into a cafe, which is a delightful spot for lunch, a quick snack or a picnic. Most of this route is through beautiful peaceful countryside.
