| 1. My standard weekly ride early in the year when the legs are a little weak or my waist is a wide!
It's a 21 mile route all on road and although these are main roads, I have to confess I prefer them to lanes because at least the traffic can see you.
A lovely undulating stretch of new tarmac from Botley to Bishops Waltham and some beautiful countryside.
A couple of moderate hills (maybe 200yds long on a reasonable gradient) this is a ride that I always enjoy right up until the I come back down Kiln Lane on the final stretch which is on a very slight uphill (not noticed on the way out) and with the legs starting to tire I always curse the fact that it ends on a slope.
Nevermind because the finish line is a beautiful pub with great food and a lovely courtyard garden. |

| Landmarks/Sites to see? |
Landmarks are basically Botley then Bishops Waltham and the Fisherspond - oh and you pass Marwell Zoo too. The Pub is a welcome venue for the finish!
