Cycle Steps
1. Start from Stroud towards Randwick and Edge. Fairly steep to start with but once on the top, it is a fairly flat route and very nice views of Severn Vale and Painswick Valley towards Sheepscombe. Good pub there, then Miserden (village shop near school) and all the way down to Sapperton with another pub there. Up and across A419 and then flat again, passing Cherington. Cross A46 and another pub in Nympsfield (wind turbine there) before a nice stretch down towards the valley with magnificent views of the Severn Vale and Brecon Beacons in the background (careful as the views are so good that I almost fell off the bike). Another good pub at the bottom in Frocester. (NB: If you do the ride anticlock wise, then this stretch Frocester to Nympsfield is the most difficult). Then flat all the way back to Stroud. I used only very quiet lanes and roads. The route goes round Stroud's 5 valleys but avoid going up and done each single valley.
Landmarks/Sites to see?
Lots of pubs on the way, wind turbine in Nympsfield. No bike shop though except on the very last part in the Cainscross Rd, Stroud so don't foget your repair kit or your mobile phone!
