| 1. This is a road route, mainly on country roads, that takes in some short but steady climbs between Rugby and Nuneaton. The stretch of road between the A5 and Wolvey Heath is a fast road, so caution is advised here.
Go down the Leicester Road, A426, to the roundabout just before the river. Turn right, off the A426 and onto Brownsover Road. Cross over the stream and follow the road as it swings left to a roundabout. Go straight over this, staying on Brownsover Road. Follow the road to the crossroads in Newbold.
At the crossroads, turn right onto Main Street, B4112, and follow this out of Newbold, heading towards Harborough Magna. Continue on the B4112 across the bridge over the canal and through Harborough Parva and Magna. On leaving Harborough Magna, take the first right, off the B4112 and onto Montilo Lane.
Follow this road as it swings left and goes over the M6. Continue to follow the road to the B4207 T junction.
At the junction, turn right onto Lutterworth Road, B4207, heading towards Magna Park at Lutterworth. Continue until you reach the A5 roundabout.
At the A5 roundabout, take the first left, off the B4207 and onto Coalpit Lane, heading towards Wolvey Heath. Follow this fast road over the railway bridge, across the Fosse Way, B4455, crossroads, where although you have the right of way, you should approach with care, and on till the B4114 roundabout, near Wolvey Heath.
At the roundabout, go straight across onto Gipsy Lane, heading towards the M69 at Hinckley. Follow the road to the B4109 T junction. At the junction, turn right onto Hinckley Road, B4109, heading towards the M69 at Hinckley. Just before the road swings right to the M69 roundabout, turn left, off the B4109, but still on Hinckley Road, heading towards the Atteborough Industrial Estate and Burton Hastings.
Follow the road as it turns sharp right, goes over the M6, swings hard right and left in Burton Hastings, heading out on Burton Lane and on till the B4114 T junction on the outskirts of Bramcote.
At the junction, turn right onto Lutterworth Road, B4114, heading towards Nuneaton. Go over the canal and on until you enter the built up area at Whitestone. Take the first left hand turn off onto Chetwynd Drive. Follow this around until the first turn off to the left, just where the road swings sharply right and becomes Hoarstone Avenue. Turn left, staying on Chetwynd Drive and go to the B4112 T junction.
At the junction, turn left onto Bulkington Lane, B4112, heading towards Bulkington. Follow the road over the canal, into Bulkington, straight over the B4029/B4109 mini-roundabout, and on till the next mini-roundabout.
At the roundabout, turn right, off the B4112 onto Shilton Lane, B4029, heading towards Shilton. Follow the road under the M69 and into the B4065 junction in Shilton.
At the junction turn left onto Leicester Road, B4065, heading towards Wolvey. As the road starts to swing slowly left, take the turn off to the right, off the B4065 onto Withybrook Lane, heading towards Withybrook. Follow the road to the B4112 T junction, just before Withybrook.
At the junction, turn left onto Main Street, B4112, heading into Withybrook. The road turns sharp left as it enters Withybrook, at his point take the turn off to the right, off the B4112 and onto Bow Lane, heading towards Monks Kirby. Follow the road to the B4455 T junction.
At the junction, turn right onto Foxon's Corner, B4455, then immediately turn left, off again, onto Miller's Lane, heading towards Monks Kirby. Follow the road and as it enters Monks Kirby, turn right, just before the T junction, staying on Miller's Lane. Go to the T junction at the end of this.
At the junction, turn right, heading towards Stretton under Fosse. Follow the road to the B4112 T junction. Turn left onto Coventry Road, B4112, heading towards Pailton. Follow the B4112 as it swing right through Pailton, leaving on Rugby Road. After the road does a slow swing left, take the next turn off on the right, off the B4112 and onto Cord Lane, heading towards Easenhall. Follow the road over the M6, and into Easenhall.
In Easenhall, Cord Lane swings right, take the first turn off to the left, staying on Cord Lane. Continue to the T junction. At the junction, turn left onto Rugby Road, heading towards Harborough Parva.
Follow the road until you come to a row of houses on your left. Take the first right after these, turning onto Cathiron Lane, heading towards Cathiron. Follow this till the first turn off to the left. Turn off left, heading towards Little Lawford, and immediately go over the canal. Continue to ollow the road over the railway line and on till the T junction at Little Lawford.
At the junction, turn left onto Little Lawford Lane, heading towards Newbold on Avon. Follow the road over the railway line to the B4112 T junction.
At the junction, turn right onto the B4112 and follow this through Newbold, straight across the first roundabout and on till the A426 roundabout.
At the roundabout, turn left onto Leicester Road and follow the A426 back into Brownsover and the start point.
