Cycle Steps
1. This is a nice and mainly flat road route, mainly on A and B roads, that has a bit of a climb near the end. There are not many traffic lights, so you can maintain a good average speed. Starting in Manchester New Road, A6144, head north and turn right into Moss Lane. Follow this as it becomes Sinderland Lane and on into Broadheath. In Broadheath turn left onto the A56, Manchester Road, and stay on the A56 till it passes under the M60. Veer left after the M60 into Barton Road, A5181. Follow the A5181 under the railway bridge and then turn left into Barton Dock Road, B5211. Follow the B5211 across the A5081, through a series of roundabouts, across the river and on till the A57 crossroads. At the crossroads turn left onto the A57, Liverpool Road. Follow the A57 through the M60 roundabout, through Barton Moss and down the side of the river by Cadishead. Continue on until the left hand turn onto the B5159 for Warburton. Turn right onto the B5159 and head across the river and into Warburton. In Warburton turn left at the fork, off the B5159 and into Paddock Lane. Follow this to the T junction and turn left onto the A6144. Follow this as it swings round to the left and on back to the start point.
