Cycle Steps
1. This is a road route, mainly on quiet country roads, but with a busier section from Stratford St Mary to Dedham. The route initially heads out of Colchester on Severalls Lane, across the A12. It then turns right onto Langham Lane and follows this, Moor Road and Greyhound Hill to Langham Hall. You then head towards the A12, swinging left just before it to go to Stratford St Mary. In Stratford St Mary, swing right onto Upper Street and follow this out till it joins the B1029. Follow this right over the A12 and through Dedham. Turn off the B1029 into Dead Lane, and then follow Wick lane, Lodge Lane and Crown Lane North around Ardleigh Resevoir. Turn left into Old Ipswich Road and head towards the A120 exit slip road. At this point you need to follow the pedestrian pathway, as you are going against the traffic flow. Take care crossing A120 exit slip road. Join the A1232 roundabout across the A120, or continue on the pathway. Turn left into Ipswich Road, A1232 heading into Colchester. Follow this until the right hand turn off for Severalls Lane and you have completed the loop.
