1. This is a road route, on a mix of A, B and country roads, that is comfortable for anyone who has been riding for a little while, but not recommend for beginners. There are ascents on the route which absolute beginners will find challenging, and one or two that even the fittest will be pleased to see the back of. The other aspect is the A1 from Black Cat to Buckden. It can be a wee bit hair raising, but apart from the odd plonker, I have had no trouble. The other main roads are the Bedford Northern Bypass, A421, and The southern Paula Radcliffe Way, A6, but there is as very wide shoulder on both of these. However, as long as you keep your eyes out for vehiclular debris and road kill, then there's nae bother.
A nice little work out of about 40 miles |
