| 1. This is an easy road route, mainly on the B1096 and country roads, that is relatively flat. It is suitable for all types of cycles and for people of all abilities, and makes for an easy morning ride through the Cambridgeshire Fens.
The route heads out of Benwick on the B1096 and follows this to Ramsey Forty Foot. This starts the bottom loop of the figure eight. After Ramsey Forty Foot, follow the B1096 towards Ramsey, but turn off right into Muchwood Lane. You then follow country roads through Ramsey and back round to Ramsey Forty Foot. Cross over the water on the B1096, but this time stay on the Forty Foot Bank. Turn off this into Ibberson's Drove and follow this till the B1096 junction. Turn right onto the B1096 and head back to Benwick (please note that this last little bit is not reflected in the time or distance as the route was not traced back to the start point). |
