Cycle Steps
1. Mainly country roads/lanes and cycle paths, i.e. tarmac. However, there is some light off road (farm track, mud, lose stone), if you follow the route exactly as mapped out (although this can be avoided, if you stay on the cycle path into and through Chiseldon). The route is probably best handled by a mountain bike with semi-slick tyres. The ride is pleasant and takes you through Coate Water Park, where you can lob bread at the ducks on the lake, before going over the helter-skelter bridge across the M4 and head towards Chiseldon. There are just one or two taxing stages, with some hills to climb, but nothing too bad if you're of average fitness. Once through Chiseldon, you cross the main road and head along the country lane towards Liddington. The 'Easter Egg' on the journey is hidden in Liddington just off 'The St' road, down a mud track that takes you past 'Liddington Hall' (not on the specified, route but not that hard to find if you explore a little). Finally, at the end of 'Ham Road' Liddington turns into Wanborugh and shortly after that there's a steep hill down into the main street, which is fun, before finishing at the pub where a cold beer is your reward for completing the route!
