Cycle Steps
1. A fairly quiet route using some minor roads and some country lanes. The route is fairly chalenging in areas due to long hills. Leaving Witney towards curbridge following the A4095 until you get to the Hamlet of Lew, then take the left turn towards Yelford, this road starts ok, then after the bampton turn, gets in a worse state for a few hundred yards but it does get a lot better. Follow this road up a slight hill (easy) and you will get to the cross roads, follow the route straight accross and the road eventually goes up a large hill(6) but once you are up its level and slopes gently down towards the main road. The route then is fairly level with nothing challenging until South Leigh, where the route starts climbing up towards the a40 and then continues to climb into Oxford Road, Witney. But once your at the top its then downhill into the town then its all fairly level(well no major hills)
Landmarks/Sites to see?
Mainly a country route, until Hardwick fishing lakes. Then once your in Witney, there are various old buildings related to the Witney Blanket industry. This route takes you down Corn Street, the location of Velo Specialist Cycles.
