Cycle Steps
1. The following directions are from Teddington Lock Bridge, so that local users can pick up the route to the City to St Paul's. Cross over bridge. Follow cycle signs to Richmond Park via Ham Gate (National Cycle Route 4) past Ham Common to Ham Gate on B352. Go straight up hill, cross over road and straight to the T junction. Turn left and go past the Royal Ballet School. Turn right into Sawyer's Hill and go through the park gates. Follow Priory Lane down to the traffic lights and turn right into Upper Richmond Road (A205). Go to next traffic lights and go sort of straight on (11 o clock) this takes you into Queen's Ride (B306) and over a railway bridge. Go straight on over mini roundabout and at next mini roundabout turn right into Lower Richmond Road (B306). This will take you to Putney Bridge. You are still following National Cycle Route 4 here. Cross the bridge and turn first right into Gonville Street (Be Careful Here. You might want to cross at pedestrian traffic lights). Turn right into Fulham High Street and left into RaneLagh Gardens. Go under railway bridge towards Hurlingham Club. Just before it, turn left into Napier Avenue. At the end, turn right into Hurlingham Road and follow this past the park area, it will do a right hand bend and become Broomhouse Lane. After about 300 m turn left into Sullivan Road (Again it should be sign posted Cycle Route 4). At the end of the road turn right into Peterborough Road and then first left into Hugon Road (very thin cycle lane). You then have to cross the main road (A217) which is busy. I cheat and go via the pedestrian crossing. Go straight on and follow Stephendale Road, which bears slightly to the left after about 200m. Follow this, but then turn right into Elswick Street (This will take you to a car dead end, but with access for bikes). Turn right at the bottom into Bagley's Lane and then left into Town Mead Road. Go straight over the roundabout, past the Imperial Wharf Tube/Train Station, and go to the side of the car barrier. Then up hill on Harbour Avenue and turn right around the mini roundabout into Lots Road. Follow this road and use the pedestrian crossing on the right to get onto the busy A3220 Cheyne Walk, follow this this past 2 sets of traffic lights taking you over onto the A3221 and the Embankment. Follow this and then turn SHARP left onto the B302 Royal Hospital Road. This road then takes you past Chelsea Hospital towards Victoria. Keep going straight over the junction onto the A3214 Pimlico Road. Go up the hill and onto Ebury Bridge (B324) to the roundabout and take a left into Warwick Way (B324). Head straight across 3 sets of traffic lights to Rochester Row (B324). Go straight on until the big mini roundabout and turn right onto the B323. Go straight over the small mini roundabout into Great Peter Street, and follow to the next set of traffic lights. Turn left onto the B326, to the side of Westminster Abbey. At this point, turn right onto the A302 Victoria Street and go around Parliament Square. Use the middle lane, but BE CAREFUL, as cars on all 3 lanes will turn left onto the Embankment. In your case just go straight on over Westminster Bridge. Before the end turn left at Marroit County Hall Hotel into Belvedere Road. Then go down here to the end. (Cycle exit is on right hand side!). Go past The London Eye, Shell and the Festival Hall and straight on until Blackfriars. When you get there hop onto the pavement and then immediately off again onto the cycle path on Blackfriars Bridge (A201). This is a good cycle path. At the end of the bridge be on the right hand side. The traffic will normally back up here, so its safe. So you are now in the city. At the end of Blackfriars, turn right and take the second road on the left and turn left. (It's a small alleyway really). Turn right at the end into Carter's Lane and go straight until the end of road. Turn left into Godliman Street and you will see St Pauls straight ahead!!!!!.
