From then on there is a long descent off the moor and down into the town of Kirkby Stephen.
Landmarks/Sites to see?
The whole route is picturesque with the villages of Askrigg, Castle Bolton, Grinton and Reeth. The countryside is sheep country, nice and green in the valleys and wild and boggy on the moors. Food and accommodation can be found in Castle Bolton, Grinton and Reeth. You must stop for a drink at Tan Hill and a bite to eat because you will need it. Put your top back on for the descent to Kirkby Stephen and get your brake hands working. There is a great view on the way down so make the most of it.
