| 1. This route leaves Southport across the moss using country lanes that are generally quiet.The terrain is mostly flat and easy going unless the wind is against you which it usually is at some point. At the Gorst Lane/New Lane junction on the right the Farmers Arms pub is on the canal side.
The route from there until the A565 is less open so not so much wind.
