1. Flat route combining road and the Phoenix Trail.
Head from Stoke Mandeville village towards Great and Little Kimble. From there take the B4009 past Princes Risborough and along the Chinnor Road. Pass Summerleys Road on your left, then 1/4 mile later turn off left immediately after the disused rail bridge. Take the first left and left again to access the Phoenix Trail (old railway line) to Thame. After 20 mins you will arrive at the outskirts of Thame and a road going over the Trail. Take this turn off into Howland Road (B4012). Rejoin right then take right turn into Kingsey Road (A4129) to Longwick. Rejoin original route and head back towards Little Kimble on the B4009 and then Marsh Road to Stoke Mandeville. Overall time nom. 1hr 40mins at steady pace. |
