1. From Halbeath Road turn onto Linburn Road. Follow signs to Forth Road Bridge. It will take you through Inverkeithing (about 4 miles). Once over the bridge go straight on about 100m to find the sign for Edinburgh (9 miles). Follow the road which winds through the housing estates towards Dalmeny. Go straight on through the village about 1.5 miles (no amenities) then turn right at the end of the road. Carry straight on following the signs. At the Cramond Brig hotel turn left down the hill over the river then back up the hill where you'll find signs directing you to the City Centre. From here you'll find the route goes through the local housing area, which is very well signposted, before reaching the cycle path at Silverknowes. Follow the path to the right and the signs for City Centre (6 miles). This route is also very well signposted and is very popular path for families as it is quite flat. If you can't face cycling home you can get the train from Waverley or Haymarket, or if you get tired half way you can get the train from Dalmeny or Inverkeithing. Overall, there are a few small hills to climb and crossing the bridge on a windy day can be hard work if you have a headwind.
