Cycle Steps
1. A great hour to 90 minute ride, of which, about a half is off road (hard chalk). Streat Lane is a favourite country lane, leading to a steep path up the downs. If you're not great on hills, allow about 15 mins to walk this bit. Then a lovely 20-30 minute ride along the South Downs way to Clayton windmills, where you join the road back to Burgess Hill. This is not a beginners ride. I took my 10 year old and we walked up the steep bits.
Landmarks/Sites to see?
Street Village - Ditchling Beakon (where you can often see an ice-cream van for the half way point). Jack and Jill windmills at Clayton. Bike shop on Cyprus road in Burgess Hill.
