Cycle Steps
1. Starting in the layby on the A421 at the end of Bedford Road, Marston Moretaine. You will notice an entrance into the Millenium Park/Woods alongside the layby - you will come out of here on finishing your route. Great route for those that don't like too many hills! Start by heading out down Bedford Road and into the centre of Marston Moretaine before turning left opposite the Post Office. Contine along this road turning left at the 'Social Club' signed towards Millbrook. This road takes you over the level crossing before you head towards the Millbrook Testing Ground. Here you have the only Hill on the route. A steep one but it is extremely short as you climb into Millbrook. Follow the road and make your descent. The road is generally quiet and I only met one car along the entire stretch before turning left onto the Ampthill to Bedford road (B530). After about 20yards turn right to Houghton Conquest and follow the road into the village turning left just after the Post Office onto the Bedford Road. You then follow the road right the way to the end and at the T-Junction where it has brought you back onto the Ampthill to Bedford Road turn left. After a short while you will turn right into Stewartby. Do take care, as this road can be busy in the day - but that said, I did it early on a Sunday morning and only had about three cars pass me! Heading home from Stewartby turn off the road just after the Level Crossing to join the 'Millenium Park' path which runs alongside the lake. This runs alongside the road but means you don't have to join the A421 to get back to your starting point. Follow the track alongside the lake, the track takes you over a wooden bridge, after about 1/4 a mile the track bears left (small down/up slope) and then after about 1/4 mile a footpath on the right (first footpath after the slope) will bring you out where you parked your car! Enjoy!
