Cycle Steps
1. Exit the station and then bear right at the mini-Roundabout. Get onto the Cycle Network route 45 at the Sainsbury's carpark. It runs along the river. Cycle for approximately 0.25km and the cross the river over a pedestrian/cycle bridge. Turn left and cycle for 1km along the path, then turn right at the road and continue on along the cycle path. Skirt around the Old Sarum castle remains and continue along route 45 north. At Wilsford Cum Lake, turn left and follow the track via Spring Bottom up to Stonehenge. Return via West Amesbury and follow Route 45 back to Salisbury. As an alternative, I chose the road section rather than loop around the castle again. This was a very pleasant route, generally avoiding busy roads and the terrain was not overly taxing. Lots of thatched cottages and picturesque views along the way. Plus some of the biggest tourist attractions in the South West. Approaching Stonehenge up the hill was just awesome. Some of the track sections were a little bumpy.
