1. Route across the chalk downs from sea to sea. Many flat bits, but rises from north to a very steep hill on the section between Ashford and Canterbury - then downhill to whitstable on the crab and winkle. Marked as cycle routes 11, 18 and 1, for most of the way - so easy to follow.
