| Quiet safe roads through London suburbs and Kentish lanes to Appledore in Kent. From which a train can be caught back to central London! Quite a few tough hills: especially in first half: 25% gradient between Downe and Cudham, and a long 10% gradient up to Ide Hill. Second half flatter but still some short steep climbs until after Rolvenden. |
