a enjoyable ride i have never went in to the Edinburgh side of this track but you feel like your in the countryside most of the time ,not a route for a fast pace due to others on the route & blind bends but very enjoyable i go from Bathgate to Kirknewton then back to Forestburn & back to Bathgate good for a easy workout

We took it as much as possible on a ride from Helensburgh to Edniburgh via Glasgow. I say as much as possible as there were several stretches where we emerged onto a road or had junctions and couldn't find the next stretch of path. It really needs to be marked up better.
