Cycle Steps
A circular route, passing through some very scenic areas. Heading towards Wigmore, Skirting Bredhurst, the route the follows country lanes a swift decent through Queensdown Warren into Hartlip turning right at Munns Lane and then left at the junction. Following the lane until it reaches at A2. Cross here with care looking for Breach Lane to your left. Take the first right heading up a bit of a hill leveling out to a nice ride past cornfields. Look for the signs for Iwade. Climbing up a steepish hill ride through Iwade onto a long straight road where a view of the Sheppey Bridge awaits. At the end turn left on Old Ferry Road, a short ride turning right into Raspberry Hill Road heading towards Lower Halstow. This section runs parallel with the sea for a while leading into the village of L.H where there is a Public house. Now onwards to Upchurch, a few stores and a Fish and chip shop here if food is on your mind! Turn right at the Church and follow this varied section with minor inclines and bends. When you reach the roundabout by the Three sisters Pub take a right towards Rainham. A flatish ride, take care through the narrow section by the Three Mariners Pub (Traffic Lights). A mile or so on look to the right for the entrance to Riverside Country Park. If required take a break for refreshments here, a very short ride leads to the cafe and outside seating area. Carry straight on towards Chatham passing the Strand on the right and a little later the university on the left. Look for signs for Chatham and bear off left, head up towards Maritime way,take second exit at roundabout down Dock road keep straight on bearing left at Tescos on under the Viaduct and a pretty steep climb up Chatham Hill and then a flat ride to the starting point. To sum up some small hills and gradients,nothing very challenging. Suitable for all cycles as all on roads or some cycle paths available, look out for them if required on the route.

This ride was a challenge being asthmatic but a very enjoyable route. Really enjoyed the downhill from Bredhurst to Newington....I got a bit lost but as the sun was shining it didn't matter! Thanks for posting
