| This is my benchmark route/"clear-the-head" sunday route. I forgot to mention during the initial post; 15mins into the ride while in Glanmire comes the first hill; i do not have the topographic data but it is steep enough that whilst i can sustain 25Km/h with little efforts, this hill which is probably about 600meters long will slow me down to 9/10 Km/h. mostly flat thereafter. While in Midleton, it would a crime not to stop at the Distillery if you are not a Local/never seen it before. Cobh has a very short but devilish hill while heading toward the ferry. after the ferry; head left for about 3/4kilometers; plenty pubs for grub there by the marina (it seems the "Bosun" is renown enough); then head right on the L2489: 4 kilometers long hill, before heading back down to Rochestown; the surface is not perfect nevertheless safe to ride but watch out for patches/manholes/minor pot holes. | ||
