A way to go west without going on any A roads (and avoiding the nightmare that is Staines). Some nice straight roads with some smooth tarmac. The parts along the main roads are on cycle paths. For those wanting a few more miles under their belts, you could add the Windsor Whirl.

Some busy roads coming out of london towards the Hounslow area, although most had cycle lanes, but after that pretty quiet and enjoyable ride. Easy to follow route and pretty flat. Thanks for posting

Did this last weekend and highly recommend it. Thank you for posting it! Once past Heathrow and into the villages it's very pleasant. As others have said, it's flat and there was a steady flow of other riders doing the same route.

Just did this route this morning, at 7am. Sun was up but nicely cool and fresh. A bit busy and noisy out of Ealing and on the cycle lanes along the A4 (not horrendous though) but after that, very quiet and peaceful through some lovely villages - really felt like you were in the countryside rather than in the outskirts of a major city. Breakfast by the riverside in Windsor then back. Traffic a little heavier but still quite quiet and pleasant. Thank you so much for posting this route. We would have been lost without it as the route through the suburbs is quite complex. Some amusing detours on the way back as we were trying to read the route in reverse on the Bike Hub app as the route is only outward to Windsor.
