County Down is located on the south east of Northern Ireland in the province of Ulster. St Patrick's Church in the City of Newry (County Downs only complete city) is believed to be the first Protestant church in Ireland. The county boasts two peninsulas including Ards Peninsula which forms the most easterly point of Ireland and housed two airbases in World War II, and Lecale Peninsula.
