Cycle Steps
This is a road route, mainly on B roads, but with small sections of A and country roads, that makes a good practice route, as it is on flat terrain. The loop allows you to build up your distance fitness.
Head out of Cawood on Sherburn Street, B1222, and follow this past Cawood Common, across the railway lines and into Sherburn in Elmet.
When nearly through Sherburn in Elmet, turn right, off the B1222 and onto St John's Lane. Follow this across the railway lines to the B1217 T junction.
At the junction, turn right onto the B1217, heading towards Saxton. Follow the road past Saxton and the Cocksford Golf Club, on your left, and on till the A162 T junction.
At the junction, turn left onto the A162 and follow this through Towton. After Towton, take the right hand turn, off the A162 and onto Raw Lane, B1223, heading for Ulleskelf.
Follow the B1223 through Ulleskelf and Ryther back into Cawood. In Cawood turn right, off the B1223 and onto the B1222, and go back to the start point.
