I was wondering did you post your route, as I and three friends are planning to cycle to llangennith via Swansea and any help with the route would be appreciated! We're doing JOGLE in sept so need to get the miles in. Ideally avoiding fast A roads. Not ideal I know, but I was knocked off my bike and run over by a london bus, so van now sometimes get the willies! Thanks in advance. K |

If you check out the route on something like http://ridewithgps.com/ you will see from the profile that it gets pretty 'lumpy' between Caerphilly and Sarn. As an alternative you could divert to Cardiff from Newport and follow the coast as far as Swansea, a bit longer but less hilly. I live in Cardiff and find most of the 'A' roads have busy periods during rush hour but there are a fair few alternatives:- 'B' roads and cycle paths. If you want help with the route from Newport to Swansea let me know and I'll do a route on ridewithgps and send it to you. Hope this helps Cheers Chris |
