Hello, I am off doing the entire coastline of Ireland in a week. I will be pulling a trailer complete with 3 person tent and everything I need, including fishing rod, kite and frisbees...;-) and camping wild for the duration of the trip, on which I will be running to neither a calendar nor clock. My bike is strong and ready for the trip. I also have two rear pannier bags and a handle-bar bag too. Has anyone here done this trip already, or a good part of it...? If so, I would greatly appreciate any insights or info you might have gained along the way... ~ Many Thanks ~ Philip

I havent done the trip but you have made me sufficiently jealous to gather the nerve to ask you an important question.
Your choice of equipment interests me.
Having grown up in cape town I had a lot of exposure to the sport due to all the good weather.
The wrong choice of equipment and it could all go bad.

What type of frisbee are you packing? :-) too light and the wind will get it too heavy and you get RSI.

Have a good trip.
Buster

Hi Buster, Thanks. The frisbees I am packing are... the Aerobie Superdisc which is hands-down the best (and easiest for beginners) frisbee I have yet found. I also have an Aerobie Squidgie Glow, that will absorb light (ie; from a flashlight) and be illuminated enough to play in the dark, also they are great when playing with children, as they are very soft... and both frisbees float too...;-) I was originally going to bring an Aerobie Skylighter frisbee too (they don't like the wind) which has two led lights and is bigger than the Superdisc, they are great for night playing ~ they look like UFO's... but as space was a factor...they stay home.
I Love throwing a frisbee... I Love Life... I Love...;-)

Has someone phoned ahead and warned Ireland that they are not worthy of having you tour thier fair isle?
I am humbled by your frisbeeness.
Hope the tour goes well.

Ha, Thanks Buster... For me, playing Frisbee on a beach is like a very enjoyable energized Yoga... I am from this isle in fact...a town called Clonmel, in Tipperary, which is about 30 miles from the coast....though I have been away much over the years. This might be a 3 month journey or more, depending on who I bump into along the way... there are many interesting groups and communities and individuals that I might meet, scattered around the coast, especially along the West coast..from Cork to Donegal...
I will go with the flow, pedal and stop, burdened not by calendar nor clock...;-)

I'll post some updates as I go along...

Shine On

Ireland is wonderful place and traversing Ireland in a west to east format give amazing experience, the route of the 26 Extreme Coast to Coast will pass through unspoilt rural locations, through quaint villages and along one of the most famous waterways in Ireland.

Hello,
I will be packing a tent also. Is there anything I need to know about wild camping? Are there areas where it is not permitted. If one asks permission from landowners, etc. is it usually given?
Thank you
Chuck
