depends on budget, of course. You may want to spend more, but I am very happy with my Boardman Team Carbon, which, for the price, is extremely well specced.
£999.99

Only two downsides.

1/
you have to buy from Halfords
(some offer excellent service, but you really have to be lucky in that regard)

2/
because of the above, you cannot test ride it.

I managed to beg a ride on an acquaintances bike before i bought mine.

There is plenty of discussion over dodgy spoke, and failing nipples on earlier models.
I am fairly sure this is all ironed out now.
I have never ha a problem with my wheels falling out of true, or slipping nipple tightness at all.

Hi,
I'm also looking to buy a new bike soon, probably in the new year for my jogle ride next year. I'd also been considering the Team Boardman £999 bike as it looks like you get the most bike for your money with those. Would be interested to here if there's any other bikes out there to consider?

I'm also wondering whether it's worth paying the £1600 to get the Pro Boardman bike - though I can't really see what the extra £600 is buying? there's only a few hundred grams difference in weight so I'm guessing the quality of components is better and the bike would last longer? from looking at the spec's both bikes, they share many of the same components however.....

....Mine is a Ribble Gran Fondo. Fabulous Carbon monocoque F/F.Best about Ribble is you get far and away the biggest bang for your bucks. Mine is spec'd with Campagnolo Athena 11 speed Carbon chain set Khamsin wheels and Look Keo carbon pedals. It cost £1499. Specialised bars and seat

A couple of people have mentioned the Boardmans from Halfords, I'm very pleased that they are having a good experience, but two guys I know had the down tube break away from the head stock and the spec whilst of reasonable quality seems to me like someone dipped in the box and bolted on what came out..bit mis matched.

I would recommend checking out online shops for an excellent range of carbon road bikes in Wiltshire. Their knowledgeable staff can assist in finding the perfect fit for your needs.
