Hi I've just signed up and am wanting to get into regular cycling(apart from the odd miles to the shops lol ) I live in Gosport and have the most free time at weekends so if anyone near by fancies meeting up for beginner to moderate cycle trips or knows any groups that could accommodate me ,I'd love to hear from you. I have a road/track type bike at present.

best wishes
jan

Keresley End. Near Corley, Ash Green and Ansley.

I see there are a few people from this neck of the woods on this site.

Have recently started cycling - intending to climb Alpe d'Huez and Mount Ventoux in the summer!!

My wife is also keen to get out and about.

If anybody wants to go for a ride? - krazykayaker?

Not much summer left if you intend doing them this year Spike!

I could fancy having a crack at them next year, not sure the wife would be up for it though, maybe she could drive my support vehicle! Lol

We were up cycling round Dalby Forest a couple of weeks ago, so you are in a great area Gingerfreak, almost worth moving up there just for the hills, although the area is overrun with Northern people, is it always like that ?lol

krazyk.

Dont let the goal (Alpe D'Huez) mislead you. Have only been riding for 6 weeks or so. My normal ride after work (I think I have uploaded it now) is 17 miles and I can dip under the hour. Goes up Breach Oak Lane, Church End, Fillongley...

Happy to ride at any pace just to get a few miles under my belt.

Doing upto 50 miles at the weekend. So if you fancy a 40-50 mile jaunt at sedate leisurely pace poss next weekend just let me know.

Sorry cant do next weekend as going to Cannock Chase with a couple of lads mountain biking!

Your average is a bit quicker than mine (i'm 14-15mph but my knees are knackered and i'm lazy thats why!)

You must ride past my house on your route as i am on Breach Oak Lane

I'm doing a 50 mile ride in a few weeks (day after my birthday!! should be fun!!) as a charity ride for the british heart foundation starting at coombe abbey (never done 50 before!!)

Hi - I live in Hemel Hempstead and am new to cycling although did 12 miles the other weekend - all flat and most off-road, but I loved it and want to explore more of Herts but also further afield during the weekends. Great idea by the way to find out where other cycling enthusiasts are!

Hey Oscar,

If you're still thinking about getting a Specialized Rockhopper - I've got an '08 Disc. They're very good bikes, with a strong and pretty lightweight frame for the money. If you've got any questions fire away...

New to cycling, been going out with a mate one night a week and one morning at the weekend. I'm based in Yeovil, Somerset and explore Somerset and Dorset and are looking with interest toward Devon. Cycled 43 miles this morning, longest ride yet and have to say I'm feeling a bit weakened now...

Anyone interested.?Cycletouring here is fantastic .
