Hi to all, I'm in the fair city of Perth. It has lots of lovely countryside walks but as I'm quite new to cycling I'm just discovering the many cycle routes around. It seems we have the best of both worlds here. I'm off on my holidays soon to visit my daughter in Tamworth and thinking of taking the bike. Does anyone know of any canal cycle routes around that neck of the woods? Pam

Hey what a lovely note, I do feel like we should indeed acknowledge each other more on the road, we are a unique cycling community after all.
I live in Aberdeen, ever been cycling around here??:)

I'm about 1 mile from the (proposed) 2012 mountain bike track at Hadleigh in Essex.
If your ever around give me a shout. (P.S. my cycling buddies are both paramedics....just the people to have around when you need pulling out of a fence/ prickley bush.) :-)

Lincolnshire at the moment - Lots of good little lanes for road riding. Moving to Scarborough in the next couple of months - That should be good for offroading.

Hi ya matey,
I'm from Milton Keynes in sunny Buckinghamshire, yea we have the cycle network of 'redways' right across the 'city' ( or town, as pedantic people like to inform me that MK is not a real city) but I seldom use them, what with stray dogs, twisty bends, and muggers they are more hazzardous than the roads and bus lanes..

I know what you mean Fixie, we do have cycle lanes up here in County Durham but I almost never use them as they are usually poorly maintained and can be quite twisty, restricting speed. The roads are preferable but of course have a whole host of hazards of their own as I'm sure we're all only too aware!
