Sheepcotes lane

I have, however, just moved to the Broomfield area and whilst exploring a few lanes came across a road named "sheepcotes lane" with a "no cyclists" sign - its just a small sign and doesnt look official although it is printed on metal. Does anyone kow if this is just a local farmer trying to impose his way, or is it a private road? TIa peeps. |
