Wife and I have a week free at the end of May and are looking to do a 4-5 day ride somewhere within a couple hours of London. She's not the most experienced cyclist, so we're trying to keep it to no more than 40mi a day, but we're looking for some ideas. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks for the help and advice

If you are after off road try the South Downs way from Eastbourne to Winchester (100miles) then head off to the New Forest. Lots of B+B's on the way (couple of hostels).

You could always try the Cotswolds in Oxford/Gloustershire which is very close to London. You can cycle to it or catch the train to Oxford and start to cycle/explore from there.

Some fantastic cycling to be had with flat and climbs but you do not mention what sort of cycling you do.

My Latest Route: Aug 2009 Abingdon to Long Crendon and Long Hanborough Loop.
