50 years old and getting back on the bike

hi all , i am excited to say that i have returned to cycling at 50 years old , i am overweight and have a high bmi , i am going to start on the peterborough green wheel from whittlesey and my goal is to complete the route.

any tips would be helpfull thanks in advance

I started cycling when I was about 50, never had a bike asa kid. Love it. Now 54 and cycle 40 mile a day to from work. Best thing I ever did.
