A nearly 50 mile loop from Woolwich out into Kent via Biggin Hill. A great full morning or afternoon road bike cycle. Make sure you do the loop ANTI CLOCKWISE in order to avoid having to cycle up Westerham hill.
Going anti-clockwise (ie out via Mottingham, back in via Eltham) means you get to go down Westerham Hill which is staggeringly fast on a road bike, and the ride back via Orpington is nice and simple.
Once you're in Kent, beyond Westerham there are some pretty serious climbs - Toy Hill and Sundridge Hill near Lees Wood are tough on the legs - so it will test you a bit. |
