| Drake's Trail is a network of walking and cycling routes centered around this core route, which forms part of the National Cycle Network Route 27 between Tavistock and Plymouth. New sections of off-road route are being constructed. Currently there are off-road sections between Horrabridge and Yelverton, through the Grenofen Valley, and the majority of Yelverton to Plymouth. A high level bridge will lead to a temporary route being in place for around 18 months from the end of 2010. Downloadable maps of the main route, and spur cycling and walking routes, along with details of audio walks, local facilities and accomodation can be found at www.drakestrail.co.uk |

| Well where can I start...first of all, someone can't spell "accommodation" in the description. Next, as a youngster, I would like to express my anger towards the city council, mps, etc who have no idea how to spend other peoples' money correctly. I really can't believe that millions and millions of pounds of council tax payers' money has been spent on something that, quite frankly, is not used frequently on a daily basis. Dog walkers use this route more than cyclists, including me, and I always seem to find that the cyclists seem to stay on the main A386 road. You know why? Due to the amount of hills and the direction of where the route is going...I mean, come on, which daily cyclist is going to go through clearbrook!? The council continuously seem to ignore the amount of on-road accidents caused between Woolwell and Yelverton, especially by the dartmoor diner. They've got to start thinking logically to prevent injuries before WASTING money. Otherwise, fine, the route is suitable for family bank holiday/weekends, but that's practically it and doesn't justify that they should boast sbout at least 18 million pounds being spent constructing it. | ||
