This is a good training route that I use to warm up for bigger rides. There are some nice climbs that will test you. The scenery is stunning in parts. I have added detail on the route planner to warn you about some sections of the ride. The journey does take you onto some major A roads and dual carriageways, so extra care is needed.
The ride starts and finishes at Mary Stevens Park in Stourbridge, where there are good parking facilities. There is a refreshments cabin with seating area. The coffee is good and the facility is open on weekends. Stourbidge Town has a good cycle shop "Race Co" but it shuts on Sundays. It is a good idea to take fluids and it may pay to have a bike that has either a triple, or at least a decent compact setup. Enjoy it, I do quite often. I am currently averaging 15mph on this ride, but will hope to improve on this during the next few weeks. |
