Cycle Steps
A less than interesting start to the route for the first 7 miles as you make your to Hayes via the A30 and A312 (Parkway) but from here you join the Grand Union Canal following it all the way to the limehouse Basin in the Docklands passing Little Venice, Regents Park and Camden Market on the way. A good break point is the excellent Prospect of Whitby pub at Wapping (halfway point) for food and drink and a rest. From here you go past Tower Bridge, Southwark Cathederal, Westminster and Big Ben across to Richmond Park and then follow the River Thames from Kingston Bridge all the way to Staines Bridge via Weybridge. A wonderful ride taking in the sites of London although riding along Embankment and Westminster is not for the faint hearted and would suit confident cyclists only.
