From the historic town centre of Sandbach, this route follows the road to Rodeheath where it joins the Trent and Mersey canal which it follows to Kidsgrove where the Harecastle tunnel is, over the hill through Bathpool park.

It rejoins the canal at the other end of the tunnel and follows through the historic industrial landscape of the potteries ending at Stoke on Trent. 15 Miles, vertricla climb of about 250ft, 11 canal locks up to highest point, 5 locks down to Stoke-on-Trent
