| Great route along quiet routes, more downhill than up. Use the train to get to Rannoch Station, the morning train from Glasgow gets there just after 11am. The route is simple to follow. At the start of Loch Rannoch turn right and go along the quieter south side. At the east end of the Loch follow the road round into Kinloch Rannoch, turn left over the bridge and then Right onto the B846. Follow this for 7.5 miles to Tummel Bridge, where you stay on the road as it curves right over the bridge, signposted Aberfeldy. Bit of a pull uphill for a couple of miles, then turn left, signposted 'Foss'. This takes you along the south side of Loch Tummel, a few ups and downs, past Clunie Dam. Take the green footbridge just before the A9 bridge, the round to the right through the forest, then up the hill into the town. |
