Cycle Steps
1. The route starts from Lamlash then heads straight up the Ross Road which seems to plod on for ages but it's a good hilly start to clear the lungs and get the legs working! After that a gentle ride down the Ross Road and turn left at the end of it (church on left handside of the road at the junction) and that's you heading back via Lagg and Whiting Bay then back into Lamlash. For a change of scenery on the way back, where the sign post is in Whiting Bay for the golf club follow the road up that hill for maybe a half mile. Should bring you out at a gate you can lob the bike over, follow the track up which joins onto the forrestry commission road to Kilmory. Turn right and it's about 3 miles of forrestry track down the a car park just off the Ross Road at the base of the climb. Right turn here and your going back the way you started. Best on a calm sunny day with no wind (chances of that !?).
Landmarks/Sites to see?
Coop in Lamlash, Mustard Factory at the start of Ross Road (sells biccies, jams, rock, drinks, ice cream etc) Lagg Inn (nice pint), Kildonnan Hotel a short step off the road too, Whiting Bay. Fantastic scenery with peace and quiet by the bucket load.
