This is a road route, that execept for a short ride on A roads at the start and finish, is mainly on country roads. The route is also mostly on flat ground, with not many hills.
The route starts in Portglenone and heads west into the rural area of County Antrim. Although it starts on the A42 and finishes on the A54 and A42, these are very short stretches in comparison to the whole route.
