Cycle Steps
A pleasant, enjoyable ride through rolling Suffolk countryside. Leaving Ipswich, pass over the River Fynn by the Tuddenham fountain and head for Grundisburgh (via Culpho). On passing through Grundbisburgh, turn left at a t-junction and shortly after take a right turn. Climbing immediately up hill, enter the hamlet Burgh. The next six miles or so are easy-going and you quickly find yourself passing through the pleasant village of Charsfield and soon entering Framlingham. Either break at Framlingham or take a road heading westward to Earl Soham. Soon after entering Earl Soham, take a left turn off the A1120 and head southward for Crettingam. Passing a pleasant looking pub, continue southward to Clopton Green. Reaching the B1078, turn right and after a short distance turn right again onto the B1079(following signs for Otley College). Turn left and ascend toward the college. Heading along the straight road and take a left turn, signposted Witnesham. Continue along the B1077, passing through Witnesham and Westerfield (two pleasant pubs and a railway station) and find yourself back in Ipswich.
