| Undulating route, largely on country lanes passing through some excellent Hampshire downland scenery. One long, fairly steep climb towards Ellisfield and one fast descent into Cliddesden, but generally not too taxing. |

Route passes through Steventon, the birthplace of Jane Austen. Several pubs on or very close to the route including the Deane Gate (Deane) the Queens Arms (Dummer) the Fox (Ellisfield) and the Fox (North Waltham). However, no cycle shops or indeed other shops (apart from shops at North Waltham and Overton) directly on the route.
